Birdy’s Pink Leopard
Oh Puuuuurrrrrrrrr!!!
Ingredients & Components:
- 45 ml of Snow Leopard vodka
- 10 ml of SodaStream Pink Grapefruit syrup
- 50 ml of East Imperial Tonic Water
- Ice cubes
- Fresh Pink Grapefruit
- Fresh Mint leaves
- Ice cubes
- 1 Bodum Canteen 200 ml glass
- 1 Bodum Bistro 14 cm spoon
Method:
- Measure out 45 ml of Snow Leopard vodka and 10 ml of SodaStream Pink Grapefruit syrup over ice cubes in a mixing glass.
- Shave in some grapefruit rind in place of bitters.
- Cut out half a wheel of pink grapefruit.
- Squeeze some fresh grapefruit juice into the glass and stir well.
- Use a strainer and sieve and pour out mix into the Bodum Canteen glass.
- Drop ice cubes gently into glass and top up with East Imperial Tonic Water and the Bodum Bistro spoon.
- Hang the half wheel of grapefruit on the side of the glass, then add some fresh mint and serve.
- Stir well before drinking.
Birdy’s Black Sapphire
Gin & Tonic with a kick!
Ingredients & Components:
- 45 ml Birdy’s Into The Black coffee concentrate
- 45 ml Bombay Sapphire Gin
- 15 ml Vermouth
- 10 to 15 ml Birdy’s Organic Orange Syrup
- 70 ml East Imperial Tonic
- 1 Gooseberry for garnish
- Orange rind
- Ice cubes
- 1 Bodum Canteen 200 ml glass
- 1 Bodum Bistro 14 cm spoon
Method:
- Measure out 45 ml shots of Into The Black, 45 ml Bombay Sapphire, 15 ml of vermouth and 10 ml of Organic Orange into a cocktail mixer.
- Gently drop in the ice cubes and then shave in some orange rind in place of bitters.
- Stir well and then strain, sieve into a Bodum Canteen glass and add a couple of ice cubes.
- Top off with 70 ml of East Imperial Tonic Water.
- Skewer the Gooseberry with the leaves open, garnish and serve.
Birdy’s Bouncy Berry Mojito
All hail the eternal summer :-)))
Ingredients & Components:
- 20 ml SodaStream Cranberry-Raspberry Syrup
- 45 ml White Rum
- 15 ml Raspberry Liqueur
- 6 Raspberries
- 4 Blackberries
- 1 Gooseberry
- Fresh Mint Leaves
- Crushed Ice
- SodaStream Soda water
- 1 Tall Glass
- 1 Bodum Bistro (20 cm) spoon
Method:
- Put 5 Raspberries, 3 Blackberries and Mint leaves in the glass
- Add 20 ml of SodaStream Cranberry-Raspberry Syrup and 45 ml of White Rum and muddle the contents gently enough to lightly mash the fruit to infuse the syrup and rum.
- Tear up some mint leaves and drop into the glass.
- Add the crushed ice, top up with SodaStream Soda water and stir well.
- Skewer the remaining raspberry, blackberry and gooseberry on a cocktail pick and top off to garnish.
- Add a straw and a Bodum Bistro spoon and serve.
Birdy’s Cinnaccino
It will feel like Christmas all year round …
Ingredients:
- 50 ml Birdy’s Into The Black
- 250 ml Milk or Soy Milk
- 1 Bodum Assam 200 ml glass
- 1 Bodum Latte manual milk frother
- Cinnamon Sugar
- Tablespoon
- 1 Bodum Bistro (14 cm) spoon
Method:
- Pour out 50 ml of Birdy’s Into The Black coffee concentrate into a Bodum Assam 200 ml glass.
- Heat in microwave for 30 seconds on High setting if you want it hot.
- Pour out 250 ml of milk into a Bodum Latte manual milk frother and start plunging to infuse air into the milk.
- Once the desired thickness of foam is achieved, microwave on a High setting for 30 to 45 seconds to heat up the milk if you would like it hot.
- Tap the glass or jug gently on the countertop and swirl until the foam is smooth. Please handle the hot glassware carefully.
- Slowly pour out milk into the coffee but preventing the foam with a tablespoon.
- Use the tablespoon to gently guide the foam on top of the milk and coffee.
- Sprinkle a little cinnamon sugar on top of the foam and serve along with a Bodum Bistro Spoon.
Birdy’s Moustacchiato
The perk is milk whiskers!
Ingredients & Components:
- 50 ml Birdy’s Into The Black
- 100 to 150 ml Milk or Soy Milk
- 1 Bodum Pavina 80 ml glass
- 1 Bodum Schuima milk frother
- Tablespoon
- Bodum Bistro (14 cm) spoon
Method:
- Pour out 50 ml of Birdy’s Into The Black coffee concentrate into a Bodum Pavina 80 ml glass.
- Heat in microwave for 30 seconds on High setting if you want it hot.
- Pour out 100 to 150 ml of milk into a microwave safe glass cup or jug.
- Use the Bodum Schuima milk frother to foam the milk.
- Once the desired thickness of foam is achieved, microwave on a High setting for 30 to 45 seconds to heat up the milk if you would like it hot.
- Tap the glass or jug gently on the countertop and swirl until the foam is smooth. Please handle the hot glassware carefully.
- Use a tablespoon and gently drop the foam on top of coffee and serve along with a Bodum Bistro spoon.

Birdy’s 10 AM Time Out
A refreshing non-alcoholic coffee cocktail to give you a mid-morning perk

10 AM TIME OUT
Ingredients & Components:
- 50 ml Birdy’s Into The Black Coffee Concentrate
- 100 ml East Imperial Soda or Tonic Water (depending on how sweet you prefer your drink)
- 70 ml Orange Flavoured Iced Coffee Ball
Method:
- Measure out 50 ml of Birdy’s Into The Black Coffee Concentrate into a cocktail shaker, then add the orange flavoured ice coffee ball.
- Secure the lid and shake vigorously for about 20 to 30 seconds.
- Pour 100 ml of East Imperial Tonic or Soda Water into a glass and then add the contents of the shaker. Enjoy!!!
Substitutions:
If you cannot find East Imperial Soda at your local store, Schwepps or SodaStream are good substitutes.
Iced Coffee Ball
- 20 ml Birdy’s Into The Black Coffee Concentrate
- 20 ml Birdy’s Organic Orange Syrup
- 30 ml of Water
- Combine 20 ml of Into The Black Coffee Concentrate with 20 ml Organic Orange Syrup and 30 ml of water.
- Use a mini-funnel to pour the solution into an ice ball mould and freeze overnight.
- The result is a slightly slushy ice coffee ball.
Recommendations:
Ibili makes a good ice ball mould and they come in packs of four. I got my set from Tools of The Trade (ToTT) but I’m sure Ibili and other similar brands are available at department stores with a more comprehensive selection of kitchenware.
